India is the leading sourcing destination across the world, accounting for approximately 55% market share of the US$ 200-250 billion global services sourcing business in 2019-20.

Another interesting statistic is

“US Recruitment And Staffing Market was valued at USD 487.32 Billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 568.29 Billion by 2028” out of this 80% are c2c temporary roles. Most of these roles need candidates that have work visas or at least they should work from the US. Remote jobs are on the rise though. This gives scope for India, the Philippines, and other Asian, African country experts to work remotely. I assume this is the market that freelance networks are also chasing actively.

Talking about the freelancer market which is being heavily funded by VCs and upwork.com, toptal.com is the top freelancer network in the world. Somehow I don’t feel comfortable with this model as I feel people need a support system, they have families, car loans, home loans, insurance, kids education, etc and it is already a huge burden on their shoulders to deal with, imagine the feeling of insecurity that a freelancer goes through when someone does not hire him/her for a couple of months after their current assignment. For me it’s unthinkable. I feel it’s huge human suffering. Individual employees need certainty so he/she can live a perfect family life. Why be a freelancer and try to be a semi-entrepreneur by taking that added risk? I think entrepreneurs have already taken risks so I believe it makes 100% sense to enable them with innovations and reduce their pain and risk.

Which market am I referring to? In the US staffing agency business, it’s called C2C (corp to corp) hiring, some call it Managed IT Services business, some call it enterprise to enterprise hiring, some call it out-staffing your team. Whichever the name it is, essentially a company is hiring resources from other companies on short to long-term contracts.

So making c2c hiring more efficient makes perfect sense than hiring freelancers. If all the positions for remote hiring are fulfilled with this c2c hiring then it makes hiring more reliable and I am sure every company intends to hire a person who works reliably. In my view, the freelance model should be replaced by the c2c model for reliability.

Hiring managers from the US, Europe, Australia, Newzealand, Japan, UAE, and other countries are trying remote resources more than before pandemic levels. One more reason for increased remote hiring is due to shortage of supply especially in 2020 when pandemic has hit the world, everyone was locked at home and the students who usually take a skill development course after their graduation and join the supply chain of IT Services Industry every year did not join in 2020, this resulted in breaking a flow. This created a huge shortage of tens of hundreds of new entrants this further created a vacuum in demand impacting in a. increased prices for existing software teams and b. Increased remote hiring roles. Looks like this may take at least a year or more to balance it out.

Since 2014, I was constantly searching for a c2c/b2b platform for the IT Services Industry that is similar to Airbnb for stay booking, Uber for ride-hailing. When I could not find any, we decided to fill the space and worked very hard, and built aumnics.ai, a b2b marketplace for IT Services Industry.

When we launched the alpha version of aumnics, we used to compare ourselves with upwork.com and tell everyone how we are different from them or position ourselves with youteam.io, which is another b2b marketplace and try to show how we are different from them. We finally found our niche in the “business as a service” category. This new website will be launched shortly, We do not just enable software services companies to share resources with other companies that have hiring needs but bring the whole supply chain of the IT Services Industry on to one place including the vendors of the Large enterprises, Influencers both on supply-side and demand-side and standardized the process with standard agreements, payment terms, collaboration, apps and bring transparency to the business.

We have brought the e-commerce experience to the IT Services Industry so anyone can hire software teams in a few clicks instantly. Hiring from other software companies or staffing agencies is made easy with aumnics. Book our product demo here and we will be happy to answer all your questions.
